Frequently Asked Questions
Naturally, we strive to assist you, as a potential tenant, to the best of our ability. To qualify for one of our rental properties, there are several conditions you must meet. As a general guideline, we establish an income standard where your gross monthly income (including holiday pay) should be at least 3 to 3.5 times the rent amount. See https://friendlyhousing.nl/protocol-toewijzing-kandidaat/
As a student, we ask you to provide the official proof of enrollment in your study, along with a valid identification document. You need to have a guarantor if you do not meet the specified income requirements yourself.
If you do not meet the specified income requirements yourself, it is possible in some cases to rent a home together with a guarantor. The guarantor must be a resident of the Netherlands and meet an income requirement of 4 to 5 times the monthly rent.
Do you lack the time to visit various websites daily to find a new rental property but are in urgent need? Then create an excellent profile and let Friendly Housing keep you informed about new listings in the region. You will then receive new listings first, based on your search criteria.
In general, it is not possible to rent a home together with a friend or colleague; this is only possible in a few cases. If possible, this is explicitly stated in the advertisements of the properties.
We would like to refer you to the website of the Dutch government, where you can find all the information regarding whether you qualify.
